1. Climate Change Linkages with Agriculture, Food Security and Gender Dimension
Food security enables people, that have different financial, sociable, and physical conditions, access to suitable, dependable, and nourishing food to continue their not only active but also healthy lives (FAO, 2002). Understanding food security is important because it reduces the global hunger levels associated with malnutrition. Agriculture, which provides basic food and raw materials, is essential for sustainable food security.
II. Gender-Sensitive Strategies on Transfer and Development of Technology
Gender mainstreaming strategies aim to prevent problems by addressing the effects of gender inequality on the opportunities provided and their consequences. In this way, it ensures fair and effective achievement of sustainable development goals in economic, political, social, and all other areas. Climate change can only be addressed through grassroots movements, localized knowledge, and a breath of shared interdisciplinary discourse. The circulation of knowledge and technological strategies can then be fully implemented to combat food security and economic disparity
III. Gender Mainstreaming in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation
Agriculture was recognized as an economically viable and secure avenue to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while maintaining a consistent and nutritiously viable yield. One methodology to increase carbon sinks in developing countries was through online community platforms, specifically through courses and group training sessions. By centralizing gender within climate smart agriculture (CSA), climate change adaptation and mitigation were highlighted and brought to the forefront of national stakeholders and localized farmer long term objectives.
