Hi! My name is Alea Laidlaw, I am passionate about science communication and the intersectionality between marine conservation and public health. I majored in the Science in Society Program at Wesleyan University with a minor in Film. Before college, I took a gap year with Thinking Beyond Borders which I studied international development concentrating in public health, environmental science, education, and sustainable agriculture respectively in South Africa, India, Thailand, Cambodia, Ecuador, and Peru. In addition to these experiences, I learned Spanish while living abroad in Barcelona for two years, worked with grassroots organizations in Costa Rica, and conducted research on the Great Barrier Reef.
